    Security appliance update

At Mirapoint, we are constantly enhancing our Antispam engine. In recent versions of MOS administrators can now:
    • Combine Principal Edition Antispam and Singature Edition Antispam
      What is SPF?
SPF is an attempt to control forged email – helping to prevent spammers from ‘spoofing’ your email domain.

More information on SPF can be found at http://www.openspf.org

Principal Edition Antispam works by analysing content within email. The content is evaluated for ‘spaminess’ and a score is given. By combining Principal Edition Antispam and Signature Edition Antispam, we are increasing the effectiveness of our spam catch rate.
    • Enable support for Sender Protection Framework (SPF)
By enabling SPF on Mirapoint equipment, MOS can query DNS to determine if a given domain has SPF data. If it does, the following actions can be performed:
    • Reject emails permanently or temporarily
    • Allow domains that pass SPF checks to bypass MailHurdle(TM)
If no SPF information is available – the connection will be allowed through.
More information on Mirapoint’s SPF implementation can be found in the protocol documentation.
